Santa Fe Sports Massage

Andrea M Schafer, LMT #5026.  Massage to help relieve pain and improve function.

Balancing the body means optimizing potential.

I practice massage with techniques to help a wide array of chronic and acute conditions.  You don't need to be an athlete to benefit from massage.  Although I specialize in sports massage, I also work on desk jockeys, elderly people, and children. Depending on your needs, the massage can range from deep pressure, to delicate and light lymphatic work.

No matter how you spend your day, you may seek relief from one (or more) of the following conditions.

  • Stress
  • Muscle Aches
  • Neck Pain
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Headaches caused by Muscular Tension
  • Nerve Impingement
  • Sciatica
  • Whiplash
  • Hamstring Strain
  • Shin Splints
  • Tennis or Golfer's Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Shoulder or Elbow Pain
  • Limited Range of Motion in Joints
  • Aching Hands or Feet
  • Jaw Pain
  • Tightness or Pain in Hips
  • Dowager's Hump
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Overuse Injuries
  • Muscular Imbalances
  • The list goes on.  The issues we carry in our bodies are a part of life patterns and occurrences.  Applied intelligent touch can help to correct the imbalances.

Contraindications

In general, acute injuries require a physician's attention and care before bodywork. If you have an injury which is showing active signs of inflammation such as redness, heat, swelling and pain, you may need to wait until getting bodywork in that area.
